Jake was a bearded collie who resided at Broad Lane for nearly fifteen years and he used to accompany Bob to school. He used to spend much of his time, lying by the pool, watching the fish.
When he died in 1995, Bob made a memorial to him and placed it in his favorite spot.
He had been cremated and Bob sprinkled his ashes on Bantock Park, under a Scots pine, where snowdrops from Bob`s mother`s garden appear every Spring.
The maquette, (a preparatory model), Bob mistakenly glazed with a thick metallic glaze, which unfortunately obliterated much of the fine detail!
The plaque reads, 'Jake faithful friend and companion' . There are also models of toffees and digestive biscuits that can just be made out!
